The superior court subsequently terminated Salas’s parental rights, finding that A.B.’s permanent placement with her cousin would be in her best interest. Salas appealed the superior court’s decision, asserting that he had been denied due process by the superior court’s failure to find that he is an unfit parent as required by Washington Revised Code §13.34.180(1).
