Docket No. 46467-7  Facts: Petitioner Richard Wheeler was convicted of second degree assault while armed with a firearm after a trial in the Superior Court for King County after having earlier been offered the opportunity to plead guilty to a lesser charge. Wheeler appealed his conviction to the Supreme Court of Washington on grounds that the state of Washington was barred from rescinding its earlier offer of a plea bargain before he had had the opportunity to accept it.
